Week in Review: October 23-29 | This week was our monthly virtual supper club and the theme was seriously Pie-tastic! We also shared tips for what to wear for family photos.

Wow…can you believe it’s already the end of October?

Are you ready for Halloween this week?

We sure miss the excitement this holiday brings from having younger children at home.

We don’t know about your neighborhood but we seem to get fewer kids trick or treating each year.

Maybe everyone is attending trunk or treat events these days?

But AnnMarie did get some pictures of her college kids dressed up for parties they went to over the weekend.

Gavin and his girlfriend, Abbey dressed as characters from Peaky Blinders, and Emma and her boyfriend Landon wore Harry Potter costumes.

Don’t they look great?

And look at this little guy!

Anne’s daughter Olivia and her fiance had some fun dressing their cat up for Halloween.

So whatever this Halloween means for you…whether you are in the stage of life where you take your little ones out trick or treating or you get to ohh and ahh over the kids who knock on your door…we hope you have a super fun day!

And remember even those big kids who throw on a jersey and grab a pillow case deserve a piece of candy because just like us moms they’re trying to hold on to their childhood too!

AnnMarie’s Week

This week I was playing a little catch-up from being away for a week at my dad’s house in New Jersey.

I got home on Tuesday and by that night I started getting a migraine that lasted through Thursday.

I’ve been dealing with these headaches for the past couple of years and have been trying to figure out what’s causing them.

Is it food sensitivities, hormones, or something else?

My doctor prescribed a medication that did work pretty well Wednesday and Thursday then I woke up Friday and the headache was gone.

On Saturday, Chris and I headed to Boone for some college football with some of our faves!

It was fun to spend the day with our college kiddos.

Anne’s Week

This week has been all about pie for me… LOL

I’m usually pretty good at developing new recipes… But I struggled this month!

My original plan was some kind of apple pie. But I couldn’t get the crust to be low enough in fat to not be a crossover.

So I switched gears to a chocolate pie.

I really wanted it to be dairy-free, and to reduce the calories. Then I struggled to figure out how to get it to thicken enough to be sliced.

Virginia Tech had a Thursday night football game and that really felt like it split the week in half.

It was one of the prettiest fall days of the year with gorgeous colors on the trees, temperatures in the 70s, and a beautiful sky.

The win was pretty fun too!

Since we didn’t have to go to a game this weekend, I’ve been working to finish some more projects in my office.

Maybe I’ll actually get it finished this week…

Kevin and I went out to dinner and a local bar that had a Halloween-themed event with our good friends Saturday night and had a great time people-watching.

Next week I’m pulling out the Christmas tubs and I’m so excited!

Our supper club theme this month was all about a popular Thanksgiving dessert.

AnnMarie shows you how to host a pie party, a potluck kind of get-together where you sample different pies!

These parties are popular in the midwest, and we’re totally on board.

Anne created a new recipe for a Chocolate Hazelnut Pudding Pie.

It took her a little time to get the recipe just right, but this keto-friendly dessert is also gluten-free and dairy-free.

Did we mention that it’s decadently delicious too?!
