Shopping for a teen boy this year? We asked our sons and their friends for ideas and then created the best teen boy gift guide for you!
It’s that time of year when we’re starting to think about shopping for the holidays.
Do you have a teen boy in your life who you’re trying to find the perfect gift for this year?
Boys can be really hard to shop for!
Believe us, we know because, between the two of us, we have three boys.
When they were younger it was a little easier…nerf guns, Legos, and anything sports-related will give you two thumbs up.
But as they enter the teenage years…well, let’s just say it becomes a bit more difficult.
We asked our boys and several of their friends for gift ideas.
What would they want if they could have anything…within reason of course…we aren’t talking about a brand new car. lol
Once we gathered their wish lists, we got to work to create a gift guide of over 25 amazing ideas that any teenage boy is sure to love!
We’ve got ideas for different budgets, and later this week we’ll be sharing some amazing stocking stuffer ideas too.
This year for the first time ever, I actually bought a few gifts before Halloween.
I’m trying to be prepared because, although I absolutely love this time of year, I don’t love it when stores get crowded and shoppers get crabby.
But guess what?
You get to avoid the crowds and moody people by shopping from the comfort of your couch by clicking your favorite ideas below!
How easy is that?
And if you need a teen girl gift idea check out this post.
Be sure to share these lists with anyone you know who’s searching for the perfect gift too!

Things to Wear
Some boys don’t care much about clothes while others dress to impress.
Either way, you can’t go wrong with a gift card to one of their favorite stores.
Our boys love shopping at:
Here are a few great ideas if you’d rather give a wrapped present that’s sure to bring a smile to their face.
All of our boys have a pullover hoodie or five in their closets.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a teenage boy who doesn’t have this staple piece in their wardrobe.
This sweatshirt from Nike comes in a bunch of colors and is super cozy.
Don’t worry if they have one already…boys can never have too many hoodies!
And you may want to grab these comfy Under Armour sweats or a pair of Nike sweatpants if your guy likes to match!
Classic duck boots from Sperry are a hit among young men.
They’re perfect for rainy or snowy days or even just to look cool around town or school!
Can you believe teen boys are still wearing Crocs?
Yup, it’s true!
Kids who wore them as little boys are still sporting this comfortable Crocs clog.
If the guy on your list loves to dress to impress then he will definitely want these awesome Nike Blazers.
You can choose from seven different colors or even design your own!
Now that’s pretty cool!
Self-Care Gift Ideas
Teen boys may not want to shop for self-care items on their own, so giving these ideas as a present would surely be appreciated.
And if you’d rather you can always give a gift card to Amazon so they can pick out their own self-care gift.
These items are things our own boys would love.
This cordless shaver by Andis is a best seller and has amazing reviews.
Another option is this Norelco rechargeable electric shaver.
Or a subscription to Harry’s is another great gift idea so he never runs out of razors.
Trust the Kiehl’s name and give a starter set like this one to your favorite teen or a Jack Black skin Saviors set.
It’s perfect to throw in their bag for showering after practice.
Let’s Get Techy
We all love technology, so a tech gift would be perfect for that hard to shop for guy on your list.
An Apple watch is expensive, but a super cool gift that he is sure to love.
You can often find them on sale during this time of year.
Apple recently released the new AirPods Pro so he can listen to his favorite tunes wherever he may go.
They have a different earpiece, so if he prefers the original style you can usually find a good deal on them.
This charging station will charge all his Apple devices…phone, Air Pods, and watch in one spot.
And a wireless keyboard so he can move around a bit more freely.
Fewer wires and cords mean less mess.
Wouldn’t it be great if his entire room were that organized?
Some other phone accessories:
This portable charger for when he’s on the go.
A new cool phone case.
Or a fun gooseneck phone holder to clip onto his bed or desk.
Music while showering?
Yes, please!
With this water-resistant Bluetooth speaker he can bring his favorite tunes with him into the shower.
It has a suction cup back, so he can stick it right to the shower wall.
A smart speaker is another fun option and the new Echo Dot would be a great gift idea.
Or if he prefers to take his music on the go this JBL Flip Waterproof Portable Speaker has amazing sound quality.
Just for Fun
All of our boys love Spikeball and we’re pretty sure if your guy is competitive he will too!
If he’s a gamer, then he will really appreciate the comfort of this gaming chair while playing video games.
And speaking of video games, all of our boys buy the latest edition of Madden as soon as it’s released in August.
But if your teen still hasn’t snatched it up, Madden ’24 for Xbox is obviously a fan favorite with our crowd.
Not into games?
That’s ok…we’ve got some more gift ideas.
Not only does this Crosley vintage-style suitcase turntable look cool it’s built-in Bluetooth receiver lets you stream music wirelessly to the speakers.
Since it’s lightweight and portable, he can enjoy the sound of vinyl on the go.
Or maybe flying a drone is more his style and this one is a great price with great reviews.
Room Décor & More
Give your teen boy a new look for his room with Canvas on Demand.
You can customize a canvas with his favorite picture or buy a downloadable print from Etsy of a sports stadium or map.
Another fun wall art idea is this scratch-off movie poster.
Our boys have had these hang-a-round chairs from Pottery Barn Teen for years.
They’re more expensive than some that you may find in big box stores, but we promise they’re so worth the extra money because they hold up great!
How fun are color-changing LED light strips like these?!
Hang the lights on their ceiling for a great way to add style to their room.
With the touch of a button on the remote or an app on their phone, they can change the color of the lights to match their mood.
