What’s New on the Blog

We had tons of fun this week with some of our awesome people.

One of the best things about blogging is getting to connect with other people who love creating content for you as much as we do.

Thrifting with the Gals

How fun does that sound, right?!

We were so happy to join a few friends this week for their monthly blog hop.

What is Thrifting with the Gals?

Well, each month a small group of bloggers hosts a roundup style of blog posts where they share their vintage finds, ideas for decorating with antiques, and more.

And the best part is they invite a new guest host to join them every month and it was our turn! Yay!!

We went to our local antique mall last week and had the best time shopping together.

Go check out what our favorite vintage thrift finds are and be sure to let us know what you love to collect in the comments!

Friday Favorites: College Care Package Ideas

Do you have a son or daughter away at school?

Or maybe a niece or nephew, grandchild, or neighbor?

There must be someone you know who’s away at college.

Now is just about the time that students may be starting to feel a little homesick.

The excitement of just moving in or back to school has passed.

Classes are getting tougher and there’s lots of homework, papers, and tests happening.

Why not send college students a care package to let them know you’re thinking about them?

We bet they’d really appreciate it!

Actually, we know they would!

Just Poppin by to Say Hello

items on counter for popcorn gift basket with microwavable bowl from Uncommon Goods

Who doesn’t love popcorn?

Just grab this set of two personal popcorn popper bowls or this large popcorn popper bowl from Uncommon Goods and your college student will be able to make a yummy snack any time in their dorm room or apartment.

All you need are popcorn kernels and a microwave with these awesome bowls.

Later the bowls fold flat to store which is perfect because we all know how small dorm rooms are.

Add a big container of yellow popcorn kernels that will probably last until the end of the school year and seasonings if you’d like to complete a super fun popcorn care package idea.

Uncommon Goods has a delicious set of popcorn seasonings with some uncommon flavors.

This cheddar cheese powder from Amazon is amazing on popcorn or can even be used for one of our other gift ideas below.

Coffee Gift Basket

box filled with coffee products, grounds, insulated cup, hat

Fire Department Coffee sent us this pretty gift box recently to try their brand.

It was filled with coffee, an insulated mug, a cool hat, and even a bunch of fun stickers.

Although neither of us are coffee drinkers, Anne’s son Ryan, who just graduated from NC State, a few months ago proclaimed it was absolutely delicious!

Head to Fire Depart Coffee’s website to order what your student likes and have it shipped directly to their college address.

Use the code FDCOFFEE10 for 10% off on any order amount!

Pasta Makes Me Happy

items on counter for pasta gift basket with microwavable bowl from Uncommon Goods

Send a simple meal idea to a college kid with this amazing microwave pasta pot.

Just add pasta and water and throw it in the microwave.

Then drain the water and eat the pasta right in the bowl.

Dinner is done!

Easy peasy!

If you want to round out this care package idea send pasta, sauce, and a jar of Italian seasoning along with the pot.

Sending boxed sauce is a good idea so you don’t have to worry about a glass jar breaking in shipping.

Or if your student has a can opener for canned sauce or tomatoes.

We found this tomato sauce in a box that’s resealable which is perfect when cooking for one.

Check out these other college care package ideas too for even more inspiration.

We have a feeling some students are going to be very happy soon!
