I know we say it every darn week but seriously can you even believe we just celebrated Easter?
And now we only have another month until our next holiday.
Mother’s Day is one of our favorites because…well…we get to celebrate ourselves…because we are moms after all!
It’s the one day a year when we can totally indulge ourselves without guilt.
Want to sleep in?
Go for it!
How about breakfast in bed?
Yup, those kids have you covered, even if they serve you burnt toast!
Maybe lay on the couch all day and binge your favorite show?
Your husband won’t dare to turn on the game on Mother’s Day.
But what about the presents?
We know the best gifts can’t be bought.
And believe us as moms of college kids and young adults we understand that phrase even more during this stage of our life.
We absolutely truly just want to have a day with our entire family together on Mother’s Day.
Nothing would mean more to us as empty nesters.
But sometimes that’s not always possible and being the compassionate moms we are…we get it…we understand.
However, those young adults are going to want to buy us something especially the kids that feel guilty they won’t see us.
So why not give them a few ideas?
I mean, after all, isn’t better to get a gift you really want than to pretend you love something that you don’t?

First, if we can’t all be together on Mother’s Day, one great gift idea is to plan some family fun for another day.
Anne’s kids gave her a night out at a local axe throwing bar for Christmas and they all had so much fun going out and doing something new!
We would both love a night out together as a gift!

AnnMarie and Emma drove home from a dance competition in South Carolina to meet Gavin and Jake for a late dinner last Mother’s Day.

Lululemon Align High-Rise Pant
Do you own a pair of Lululemon leggings?
I know we’re usually all about budget-friendly ideas around here and we know there are some great Amazon legging dupes but sometimes you just can’t beat the real deal.
AnnMarie’s daughter received a pair of leggings years ago from her grandparents as a Christmas gift and she wore them All. Of. The. Time.
She’d wear them to dance and then come home to wash them to wear again to school the next day.
That girl lived in those leggings!
AnnMarie was just happy she didn’t have to shell out the $100 for them. lol
After Emma got another two pairs for her birthday and then again the following Christmas, AnnMarie was curious if they truly lived up to the hype.
She got a pair from her husband for Christmas that same year and AnnMarie says they are totally worth the hype!

Anne and her family celebrated Mother’s Day a little after the actual date on a fabulous tropical vacation.
