Simply Stated 23

Hey it’s AnnMarie coming at you this week!

Let’s start out with a full confession…I totally dropped the ball last weekend and didn’t write a Simply Stated post for you guys!

I’m so sorry!

This time of year is always busy for us as I’m sure it is for you too.

I’ve been super busy with traveling long weekends for Emma’s dance competitions, moving Gavin home from college, oh and Jake moved back home too.

Plus working!

So let’s just say that my home projects have come to a standstill. And since I started a reorganizing project several weeks ago my house is a wreck…boxes, bins, and lots of stuff to donate laying around e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e!

And Anne…well she’s been crazy busy with end of school year activities and getting ready for Katy & Livy’s graduation from high school.

Oh and that work thing too!

Phew! I’m tired just typing this…lol!

Some random thoughts for you this week…

1. The NC governor just lifted all mandatory capacity, gathering limits, and social distancing requirements today (oh FYI it’s Friday 5/14/21 when I’m writing this). YAY!!!! I’m so excited to get back to pre-pandemic life. What’s going on in your area?

2. I had a busy Mother’s Day because we were out of town for dance but we were able to meet the boys for a late dinner on our way home. And guess what? They bought me gifts from our Mother’s Day gift guide. How funny is that? I was partly joking when I told you guys to show them the gift guide but I’m glad they saw it! So now it’s time for Father’s Day next! Do you have any ideas for Dad? Check out our awesome list of 25 Father’s Day gift ideas all under $50!

3. If you follow us on social media you may have seen in stories that Anne & Kevin replaced the shrubs in front of their house last month. Well, they inspired us to rip out a bunch of our overgrown shrubs too. Ya know we gotta keep up with the “Joneses”! But we’ve yet to replace ours…too busy lately on the weekends. And I thought I wanted azaleas until I just found out the other day they are poisonous to dogs. Oops! Good thing I found out now. So I’m on the lookout for something else. Do you have any ideas for me?

4. Anne’s girls’ senior prom is this weekend so be sure to check our Instagram stories because she’ll be sharing pictures of her beautiful girls. I’m so happy that they won’t miss out on a prom. So many seniors last year and again this year missed out on special events.

Now let’s see what’s been happening on the blog lately…

Does anyone need a big ol’ coat rack? When I was giving my front entryway a makeover I wanted a long row of hooks over the bench but I couldn’t find one long enough.

See how easy it is make this DIY barn wood coat rack.

Anne is planning a graduation party for her twins but some of her family won’t be able to attend. Hosting a virtual graduation party is a good option and she shared some fun ideas!

Over the past several years both Anne and I have hosted several graduation parties and have shared lots of ideas. We wanted you to be able to find all our amazing graduation party & gift ideas (if we do say so ourselves…LOL) in one place.
