It’s August and in the blogging world that means we’re ready to start decorating for fall.
Even if it’s hot and humid and currently 93 degrees as I’m writing this post.
It doesn’t matter how muggy it is outside…pumpkin spice is back at Starbucks and the shelves at Hobby Lobby have been filled with fall décor for weeks now.
So, that means I’m pulling out the fall decorating storage bins this week and going to sprinkle a little autumn around here.
But before I do that I wanted to get inspired so I went shopping the other day at some of my favorite home stores.
First stop was Hobby Lobby but I didn’t find anything in there…not because they didn’t have a ton of fall décor but because there wasn’t anything I loved.
Plus, I like to add fall colors and textures but not necessarily pieces that say “Happy Fall Y’all”.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that style of decorating if that’s your jam…because it is kinda sorta mine too I guess a little…I may have a word art sign or 20 in my house.
But I don’t want ALL my fall décor to say “fall”. Do you know what I mean?
Okay so now that we’ve gotten that cleared up…back to striking out at Hobby Lobby.
Kirkland’s is right next door to Hobby Lobby in our town so of course I had to pop in there to check it out.
And holy moly, I found so many fabulous fall home décor finds!

Amazingly awesome autumn colors, patterns and textures!
I mean if there was a money tree in my yard I’d totally be buying one of each of these gorgeous pieces.
Can you believe I didn’t even buy anything?
Nope not one item!
I was there for you guys…for inspiration but you can bet I’ll be back later this week to pick out something.

Make a Statement at your Front Door
I noticed this pretty wreath as soon as I walked in the store.
Love the look of this wood bead wreath mixed with the faux neutral colored heather and green eucalyptus.
I thought about making a new fall wreath like Anne did but it would be so much easier to just buy this gorgeous one!

Or you could go with a front door basket filled with gorgeous autumn stems like I did last year.

Let’s Get Cozy
I’m in love with these thick cozy mohair plaid throw blankets.
Aren’t they just scrumptious?
The traditional tan plaid is so classic but the gray and orange style gives the plaid a modern twist.

Kirkland’s always has the best assortment of comfy throw pillows.
These are my top three!
The fringe on the ivory and gray zephyr check pillow is a fun accent.
The lumbar pillow would coordinate perfectly with the gray and orange plaid throw blanket for a complete look for your space.
And the rust chenille pillow is a great solid that’s super soft and cozy.
Perfect for a Sunday afternoon nap!
How to Entertain in the Fall?
These neutral round placemats are so fun with the fringe detail around the edge.
I’ve been using the same seagrass placemats for my tablescapes for way too long and I think it may be time to invest in some new ones.
And those olive green colored stemless wine glasses are such a stunning color that would be amazing not only in the fall but also at Christmas time.
Oh and spring.
Maybe even summer too.
Hmmm…maybe that’s what I should buy?
The stemless glasses come in a few other jewel colors including an amber that is a great shade for autumn.
And if you want the stem…you can get regular wine glasses in all those pretty colors too.
The antique wooden paddle serving board would be so useful for entertaining guests.
I see a wine night in my future and that board filled with cheese and crackers.

Light Up the Shorter Autumn Days
I spotted these frosted glass lanterns with the leather handle with that pretty subtle design and couldn’t decide which color I liked best…ivory, orange, tan, or gray.
Which color would you choose?

Honestly, I always forget about Kirkland’s when I’m shopping for stems because they don’t have a huge variety of styles.
But what they do have is amazing quality!
Both the pampas grass and the mums come in several color options to match your home decorating needs.
