Week in Review: July 24 – 30 | This week has been filled with all sorts of peachy ideas and inspiration. Literally! From recipes, to a tablescape and a dinner party menu, you’ll find yourself in peach heaven. Plus some Christmas in July and college move-in day essentials too!
This is our monthly supper club week, so we’ve had a lot to share related to our theme: Just Peachy.
There were some extra peaches left from AnnMarie’s table, so Anne put them to use making a bonus recipe for you this month.
One of our closest blogging friends started hosting a Christmas in July blog hop on July 25th a few years ago. We decided to jump on the wagon to share some inspiration from Christmases past.
Even though we’re not wishing away the rest of our summer or fall, we know the holidays will be here before we know it.
This year has been passing so quickly! Especially since we’re about a month to six weeks ahead of non-blogging people!
Sometimes we’d like to slow down and enjoy the season we’re in. But we love what we’re doing so much that we don’t really mind preparing for the holiday season at the beginning of October.
We’re soaking up the last days of having our college students home with us too. It’s hard to believe two of our kids are starting their senior years in just a few weeks!

Why is vacation always the fastest week of the year?
I had a great time with my extended family in the Outerbanks of North Carolina…lots of fun in the sun!
There were 35 of us between 4 houses!
I didn’t do such a good job taking photos this year however, I did manage to get this one with all of us one night after dinner.
I forgot to bring my tripod (rookie mistake…you’d think I’d remember) so I had to prop my phone up and this is how it turned out with all of us.
The pressure was on with everyone squished together waiting for me to get my phone ready to take the picture and I didn’t do such a good job. LOL
Every year we take a cousin picture with all the kids ages 5 to 25 lined up on the beach looking out at the water but we didn’t get that one this year either.
My cousins little boy fell and hit his leg on the side of the pool and broke his leg…on day 1 on vacation!
Poor little guy was in a cast all week and he was such a trooper so we decided to just skip the annual cousins beach photo.
Today I’m doing laundry, grocery shopping and preparing for a busy work week ahead.
Oh and helping to get Gavin ready to move into his new unfurnished college apartment on Saturday.
Boy this summer is just flying by!
This week has been a grind, LOL!
Honestly, it feels like I haven’t gotten out of my “office chair” at the kitchen table the whole week. Okay. That’s a total exaggeration.
I learned I couldn’t put down a rug all by myself in my bedroom, although I tried really hard to do it.
I’ve been reading a fun criminal procedural kinda novel at bedtime. It’s one I recommended in my summer reading list (Twenty Years Later) and I’m loving it so far.
I’ve also been listening to some podcasts and a book on Audible while I’m working.
I don’t know if I’m as efficient when I’ve got a podcast or book on. But it definitely makes the sitting time more enjoyable!
On Thursday, I got to catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in over a year at lunch. Then, on Friday, I got to see my son at lunch, so I can’t complain at all.
This weekend, we’re getting the shutters hung on the fixer upper house. And I’m hoping to get some painting done in my office, but not sure if that’s realistic…
All in all, this has been one heck of a month. It kind of feels like I blinked and July is gone, how about you?

This has been a busy week here on the blog, even with AnnMarie at the beach!
She put in lots of time last week plus some time in the mornings to get everything done.
It’s a good thing we both love what we do enough to keep doing it on vacation!
Over on social media, our Instagram account is continuing to grow. Things have slowed down a bit, but we’re getting extremely close to hitting a goal that’s felt completely out of our reach.
Stay tuned because hopefully, we’ll be planning a 100K celebration in August!
