Friday Favorites: 10 Women’s Tops for Summer from Amazon

Summer is the perfect season to update your wardrobe, and Amazon has the best selection of women’s tops for summer at unbeatable prices.

I’m always looking for ways to jazz up my same old comfy crop jeans during the summer.

Even though I live in North Carolina you’ll rarely see me in a pair of shorts.

Let’s just say my legs aren’t my best feature and as I’m getting older it seems the weight is harder to get off.

Plus, I’m always cold especially when I’m inside working all day with the air conditioning running.

So jeans are just the best option for me.

Anyway, this blog post is about shirts and Amazon is my go-to for affordable and stylish options.

I shared some great tops from Amazon this past spring and my favorite cute black shirts for fall.

I ordered 10 women’s summer tops to try on and I can’t wait to show you them today.

Amazon Summer Shirt Try-On

Okay, so you probably want to know my stats so you can figure out if these shirts would work for you too.

I don’t know about you but when I’m shopping online I like to look at photo reviews so I can see what the item really looks like.

Because let’s be honest the model isn’t always what many of us look like.

I find it helpful to see an article of clothing on someone who’s got a similar figure to mine.

So here are my stats:

• Height 5’6″
• 160 lbs
• 36C bra
• medium or large shirt size depending on the style
• my arms are thick so sleeves are sometimes an issue

My weight fluctuates by about 5-7 lbs All. Of. The. Time. which makes it super fun with my clothes.

If you look back at my fall Amazon try on I was 160 lbs and in the spring I was 167 lbs.

Apparently, I gained some weight over the winter. ugh

Now I’m back down to 160 and hopefully, on the downward track to losing this extra 10 lbs I’ve been carrying around the past several years.

Full disclosure…I’m picky about my clothes.

I want to feel good in them…not only comfortable but confident.

And if something isn’t flattering then back it goes!

But remember we all have different body types so what I may not love on my body doesn’t mean it wouldn’t look fabulous on you.

I’ll be honest about each shirt I tried on and will try to give you as many details as possible.

Grey V-Neck with Sheer Swiss Dot Shirt

This grey v-neck turns a classic t-shirt up a notch with the pretty sheer Swiss dot short sleeves.

I’m wearing a large and although it fits well throughout the body of the top it’s really long on me.

But since I have a curvy figure it hugs my hips and bottom too much.

And it’s so long that it’s too much material to give it a cute front tuck.

If you have narrower hips then this shirt could be a good option to wear with leggings.

Black Top with Beige Lace V-Neck

The length of this black shirt with a beige lace v-neck is much better than the last one.

The lace detail and puff sleeve really dress up this cute t-shirt.

The trendy puff-style short banded sleeve is a little more fitted than I’d like.

It’s not too tight just not as flattering on my arms as I’d like.

I’m wearing a large and if I size up the band on the sleeve may be more comfortable.

But then the rest of the shirt would be too big.

Plus, if you look closely the tan stitching is crooked on the side of the V-neck.

Always check the quality and details on clothing you order online.

Khaki Cold Shoulder T-Shirt

I always love a good cold shoulder top and often wonder if they’re out of style.

But they’re still coming up when searching for “trendy summer tops” so I think I’m good.

I like a cold shoulder style because my upper arms are a little chunky and I think this style hides that well.

This style is cooler than a regular top without wearing a tank top.

I also prefer v-necks to crew necks as you can probably tell…lol.

The color of this shirt is a bit drab on my skin tone so I’m going to exchange it for a different color but keeping the same size large.

Green Off-Shoulder Shirt

Like cold shoulder tops, I’m also a fan of off-shoulder blouses.

I like that off the shoulder shirts hide my upper arms but show my shoulders.

I’m wearing a large and may even want to size up to an extra large because it’s made out of spandex and rayon so it’s not laying as loose on me as I’d like.

The green color is really pretty.

This top can be dressed up with a pair of heels or kept casual with flip-flops.

Women’s One-Shoulder Black Top

This black one-shoulder shirt is perfect because it shows off your shoulders but the strap is wide enough that it hides your bra strap so you can wear a regular bra.

That’s the only drawback to off-shoulder tops is having to wear a strapless bra.

If anyone has a great one they absolutely love let me know!

I’m wearing a large and it’s a little bit long on me but not too long that I can’t give it a front tuck.

I wouldn’t want to size down to a medium for this shirt.

Beige Lace Sleeve V-Neck Shirt

This beige lace sleeve top is also a size large and fits well although not as flowy as shown on the model.

I’m not loving the beige color I choose again on me.

You guys I really tried to go out of my comfort zone and order some colors other than black.

But the shades of these tan tops are just not working with my skin tone.

Peplum Blouse Top

A peplum blouse top is super cute for summertime with a pair of jeans or shorts.

Since this shirt was described as loose-fitting I ordered a medium in this purple red color.

But I think it’s a bit too short in the front under my chest in this size.

It’s a good thing I thought this one was cute enough that I ordered it in a large as well just in case.

Black Peplum Women’s Shirt

This is the same top as the previous one but it’s a different color and size.

The large fits me better in the chest area than the medium did and the length is just about the same in both sizes.

I really like the loose open sleeve style on this top because it doesn’t feel tight around my arms.

And the loose fit around the tummy area allows the material to just fall nicely without being clingy to my hips

And this loose peplum shirt is available in 40 different colors and styles so you’ll definitely find one you like.

Loose Tunic Top

I ordered this loose side split tunic top specifically to wear with leggings.

Sometimes when I’m working from home and not in the mood to wear jeans I love leggings.

I mean leggings are super cozy, am I right?

Even though this shirt has a high-low hem, I sized up to an extra large to be sure it was long enough to cover my booty.

This top is so comfortable I’ve already ordered two more in different colors!

It’s available in both a crew and v-neck option.

Tunic Ruffle Blouse

I also had high hopes for loving this ruffle tunic shirt to wear with leggings but I missed the mark on this one.

Is it long enough? Yup!

Will it cover my booty and upper thighs? Yes!

Does it look too cutesie on me? Definitely!!!

Now if you’re a fan of the ruffles around the asymmetrical hem and bottom of the sleeves then go for it!

But I said I’d be honest with you guys and I felt like this is something I wore in high school.

This style wasn’t a good look on me back then and still isn’t now.
