Friday Favorites: Our Favorite Things Party

Check out our Friday Favorites and see what we’re each shopping for this week! Today we’re switching things up so keep reading to find out how.

Since Anne is on vacation this week, we thought it would be fun to share the gifts we exchanged at our book club’s Favorite Things Party a couple weeks ago.

Did you see our Instagram story when Anne shared all about our get together?

Be sure to follow us on social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest) to see what we’re up to between blog posts.

If you’ve been around Simply2Moms a while, you may know that, we work together to share simple and budget-friendly ideas for decoratingrecipesDIY projects, and tips for life with older teens (and beyond!).

It always seems like one of us or actually, more than likely both of us, are in the middle of a project.

Whether it’s a room makeover, testing a new recipe, or planning an event.

And the more we work the less time we have to browse around a store and shop in person.

To get all the things done each week we both do a lot of online shopping.

We shop for décor items, kitchen supplies and everything in between.

And since we already love to share budget-friendly ideas with you, we thought it would be fun to show you what we’re shopping for every Friday!

We may even share some personal favorites we love too.

An awesome outfit or makeup product we find along the way!

What’s a Favorite Things Party?

group of women holding their favorite things

I had heard about these types of parties but I had never been to one before.

Have you ever been to a favorite things party?

It’s really so much fun!

The basic idea is for each guest to bring something that they love as a gift to share with other guests.

There are several ways to host this type of party.

We’re part of a small book club that meets monthly, usually at a local cozy wine bar.

A few months ago we decided to get together and throw ourselves a favorite things party.

We had six of us participating in the exchange, so that meant we each bought five of our favorite thing(s) to give each person (not including ourselves).

As a group we decided to set a dollar limit of $10-$15 per gift.

Life happened and we didn’t get to actually host a party like we wanted to throw.

But that’s ok, instead we got together at “our favorite” wine bar to exchange gifts.

We’re hoping to throw an actual favorite things party in the fall or maybe around the holiday’s would be super fun.

Stay tuned because we’ll be sharing all about that one for sure!!

AnnMarie’s Faves

small gold bucket with packs of ultima flavors and a tube of mascara

I choice a few items to give to the ladies at the gathering.

First, was a small gold metal pail that I used instead of a gift box or bag.

I love using these little buckets for entertaining.

They were used to hold candy and toppers for a popcorn bar at my daughter’s 16th birthday.

Then I pulled them out again for my Saint Patrick’s Day tablescape.

But my favorite thing to use these pails for is a mini garbage can in my car.

I just set it in the middle console compartment and toss straw wrappers from my iced tea or receipts I don’t need.

Then, I filled the mini bucket with my favorite Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte Hydration sampler packet and the best mascara ever!

Anne’s Favorite Cup

This picture was one of our very first viral Instagram posts with one of our early collaborations.

Isn’t she so cute!?

Anne has used her white Mira water bottle every day since she got it three years ago!

She gave us all our own Mira tumbler in pink at the favorites things party.

I couldn’t resist recreating that awesome shot of Anne (minus the funny letter board).

What do you think?

Did I nail it? LOL!

Tracy’s Favorite Things

bath salt jar and spiky ball on wood pedestal

Our friend Tracy gifted everyone Himalayan bath salts from a local North Carolina shop called Indulge Soapery.

They don’t have a website but here’s the shops Facebook page.

And a massage ball that’s feels amazing if you roll your foot over it.

Julie’s Favorite Self Care Items

Have you ever seen mini disposable toothbrushes?

Neither of us had until Julie gave them to us.

And what an awesome concept…why had I never heard of these before?

She also gave us her favorite hair mask that I can’t wait to try.

The diamond dazzle stik is a perfect to quickly clean your wedding ring while getting ready for bed.

Angela’s Favorite Things

50 states hard cover book and orange peeler

Angela has a goal of visiting all 50 states and she’s almost there…just a few left to go.

She gave us all this beautiful hardcovered book filled with the best places to visit in our country.

And do you recognize that little orange thing?

It’s an orange peeler!

Angela even brought an orange with her to give us a tutorial on how it works. LOL!

Nancy’s Favorite Kitchen Tool

mini serving spatula

Our friend Nancy shared her favorite kitchen tool.

This mini cut and serve turner is an essential tool in her home.

She said it works great for brownies because it cuts them and then you can scoop a square from the pan with one tool.
