Friday Favorites: Prep and Serve Salad Essentials

Are you looking for the perfect products to help you prep and serve salads? Look no further! We’re sharing our favorite salad essentials so you can easily make and serve delicious salads at home.

We made it to Friday!

And guess what?

It’s finally officially spring!

Isn’t it so exciting to see the trees and flowers blooming?

And the temperatures are actually getting warmer too!

We had a cold streak here for the past couple of weeks but today it’s finally warming up and we’re here for it!

Anne even got a brand-new outfit for spring from Chico’s.

Do you shop there?

We both found a few nice things a couple of years ago when we were looking for business clothes for a blogger’s conference we were speaking at.

The jeans and leggings we’d been used to wearing for the last 20-something years weren’t going to cut it at a conference. lol

Look how pretty Anne’s new outfit is…

The pintuck embroidered black top is beautiful with a lace bottom. It’s a versatile shirt that can be dressed up with nice slim pants or kept more casual with jeans.

The slim white pants Anne is wearing have a pretty crochet hem and are perfect for everyday or even more dressy occasions.

We’ve had a busy week and are looking forward to spending some time with friends this weekend.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

This Week on the Blog

With warmer weather on the horizon, we both are thinking about summertime…and getting back into a swimsuit. ugh!

Time to start getting more serious about eating healthy.

We always eat fairly healthy but as we get older it gets harder to drop those few extra few pounds we may have gained over the winter.

Anne created two new recipes and shared them on the blog this week.

You’ve got to try this one (we say one because they kinda go together…like a match made in taste bud heaven).

Well, you should really try all of our recipes but this one, in particular, is absolutely amazing!

This keto-friendly refreshing blueberry salad with a delicious sweet lemon vinaigrette dressing is a perfect lunch or even dinner.

Just add your favorite protein and you’ve got a scrumptious and filling meal.

And speaking of spring AnnMarie has cleaned, organized (a bit), and decorated her house for the new season.

She joined 29 incredible bloggers this week who all opened up their homes for a spring home tour. You need to check them all out for inspiration and ideas.

AnnMarie was finally able to style many of the vintage finds she’s been collecting over the past year or two.

So go see how she spruced up her home for spring and summer.

I know it’s hard to believe but it’s almost the end of the month so that means it’s time for our monthly supper club.

AnnMarie designed a simple but beautiful tablescape this month for our spring fling theme.

Wait until you see the 6 gorgeous spring tables…we know you’re going to love them!

Favorite Salad Prep & Serve Must Haves

Do you want to get more salads on your table?

We both love salad all year long, but when the weather starts warming up we could eat them almost every meal!

We’ve both found that having salad ingredients prepped and ready to go means we’re more likely to actually eat them.

These are all our favorite tools to prep, store, and serve salads in style!

Salad Prepping Tools

Cuisinart Food Chopper

Mini hand food chopper.

Did you go to Pampered Chef parties back in the 90s? We both sure did!

One of our favorite gadgets was their food chopper.

Unfortunately, their new version isn’t made nearly as well, so now we’re loving this Cuisinart Food Chopper.

It’s the best way to chop up onions, nuts, and hard cheeses.

You can even use it to mince garlic and shallots!

We also love that it’s dishwasher safe for easy clean-up.

Adjustable Mandoline Slicer

Stainless steel mandoline slicer for slicing vegetables.

If you’re prepping lots of veggies, then this Adjustable Mandoline Slicer is your new BFF.

The great thing about mandolines is everything comes out so uniform!

There are so many different attachments that you can cut your veggies in all kinds of shapes.

Super thin cucumber curls.

Shredded carrots.

Sliced radishes and peppers.

And it’s so fun to use that it makes salad prepping feel like a game!

Stainless Steel Egg Slicer

Stainless steel egg slicer for hard boiled eggs, kiwis, mushrooms, and strawberries.

This gadget is one of Anne’s favorites!

A Stainless Steel Egg Slicer is exactly what you need to make perfectly sliced eggs, strawberries, kiwis, and mushrooms.

If you like egg salad, you can use it to quickly cube hard-boiled eggs.

This one is made from stainless steel so it’s much sturdier than the plastic kind, and it’s dishwasher-safe.

What You Need to Make Homemade Salad Dressings

OXO Citrus Zester

One of the best things to add to salad dressing is lime or lemon zest.

You can use a fine cheese grater if you want it in really tiny pieces.

However, if you want long, fine strips of zest, this OXO Citrus Zester is the best.

It even has a channel knife to make citrus curls.

Citrus Fruit Juicer

Almost all salad dressings include an acidic ingredient.

Be sure to use a good quality of vinegar if that’s the acid.

But if the recipe calls for fresh lemon juice, then you need this Citrus Fruit Juicer.

We’re amazed by how much juice this simple tool extracts!

OXO Salad Dressing Shaker Bottle

When you make your own salad dressing, this OXO Salad Dressing Shaker Bottle is hands down the best container!

It has measurements on it to easily add the liquids in the correct amounts.

The lid is leakproof.

And it pours without making a mess.

Anne loves it so much that she has three so she can have a variety of homemade dressings on hand at any time.

How to Serve Salad in Style

Mason Jar Plastic Cruet Lid

Mason jar with a black silicone lid for storing and pouring liquids.

If you prefer using mason jars, this Plastic Cruet Lid fits standard openings on canning jars.

It’s an inexpensive option and would look pretty on a table if you’re serving salads at a party.

Glass Creamer or Dressing Pitchers

Two small glass pitchers for serving salad dressings.

We love these pretty Glass Creamer or Dressing Pitchers!

They look so nice on a table or buffet table.

These pitchers come in a set of two.

They’d be super cute on a breakfast table with syrup, like this blueberry syrup or this pear syrup.

OXO Large Salad Spinner

OXO Salad spinner

If you prepare your own greens, this OXO Large Salad Spinner is the best way to wash the lettuce!

It’s fun to use too.

You can even use it to serve and store the lettuce.

We love that it holds so much!

Porcelain Salad Serving Bowl with Serving Tools

White porcelain salad bowl with wood serving tools.

For a simple salad presentation, we love this white Porcelain Salad Serving Bowl with Wood Serving Tools.

It’s a 5-quart bowl so it will hold a really big salad!

The wood serving tools are a pretty touch too.

Bamboo Salad Hands Set

Wood salad serving claws.

Anne got this set of Bamboo Salad Hands a few years ago and loves how well they work!

If you want a big salad, then salad hands are the way to scoop it up.
