Simply Stated 53

Our week in review: May 22 – 28. This week was all about our virtual supper club for Father’s Day, tablescapes, delicious menu ideas, an amazing side dish, gift ideas, and a patriotic home tour.

We hope you’re enjoying the long holiday weekend.

We’ve been having an awesome time with our framily who are in town from Virginia. (framily are the friends in your life that feel like family)

Our friends lived on the same street as us but they moved to Virginia years ago.

We’ve stayed close with them and all of our kids are like cousins. It’s the best!

While we’re grateful to be spending time together we’re also fully aware of the reason we have a long holiday weekend.

This Memorial Day, let us take a moment to remember those who have served our country.

Let us thank them for their service and let us pledge to never forget their sacrifice.

We owe them a debt of gratitude that we can never repay.

But we can show our appreciation by honoring their memory and by supporting those who are still serving.

AnnMarie’s Week

side by side comparison of office organization

This week was crazy busy for me.

I had a bunch of appointments between blogging and other projects going on around home.

I had a thyroid medicine check-up with my regular doctor and my yearly eye doctor exam, and a hair appointment (gotta cover those grays!).

Oh and then I went with Emma to a new specialist for her foot.

I’ve also been working on a new outdoor project for my deck this week that I can’t wait to share with you.

And I finally cleared out my office and the upstairs hallway where I had been just dumping stuff I didn’t know what to do with.

It feels so good to have those spaces cleaned out now.

Anne’s Week

Like AnnMarie, I ran around like a chicken with its head cut off this week!

Between three posts that I needed to finish at the beginning of the week, I was working on getting my house ready for a house full of guests.

Even though they’re framily and wouldn’t care if the house isn’t spic and span, I care!

Plus, it’s always good to have an excuse to get the whole house cleaned.

Since most of my kids have moved out, their bedrooms all needed to be freshened up.

Then sheets and bedding had to be washed and the beds all made up.

Bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping the floors.

Good grief! I might’ve gone a little overboard considering it’s all gonna need to be done again when they leave… LOL

But it sure felt nice getting things a little more than tidied up and surface cleaned.

This Week on Simply2Moms

We were so busy this week that we didn’t even work together like we usually do.

Our email is a little backed up too.

But it’s fine…everything’s fine.

Because we’ve got a bunch of new content for you this week!

Anne started the week off with a new/old recipe.

It was a new one for the blog but an old favorite recipe from her childhood that her mom used to make.

This baked bean side dish is perfect for any cookout or gathering this summer.

Our monthly supper club was all about Father’s Day celebrations.

AnnMarie set a fun nostalgic vintage outdoor tablescape on her deck.

Wait until you see how it turned out!

We joined a group of incredible bloggers for a summer home tour.

Anne’s house all decked out in red, white, and blue is about as patriotic as you can get.

You have to see all the ways she used American flags throughout her home.

Then we shared an amazing summer menu that’s not only perfect for Father’s Day but any bbq or party.

Our friends from our supper club knocked it out of the park this month with some delicious menu options.
