Summer is in full swing and we’re gearing up to celebrate our country’s birthday.
What better way to celebrate than with a patriotic cookout with friends?
We’re co-hosting a virtual progressive cookout with a summer-inspired menu.
With some fun patriotic touches.
Seriously, this menu would be perfect for the 4th of July!
Or memorial Day.
Or Labor Day.
Maybe even Flag Day…
Or any day you want to tempt your taste buds with the fresh flavors of summer!
Honestly, you don’t wanna miss any of these delicious recipes from our friends all across the United States in Texas, New Jersey, Nebraska, and North Carolina.
Today, we’re serving our meal on AnnMarie’s deck, because there’s nothing like eating outside for a summer cookout.
If you’re visiting from our friend Michele’s home in Texas, or you’re new to our blog, welcome!
We’re so glad you’re here!
AnnMarie and I live across the street from each other and love sharing simple ideas for home decorating, easy DIY projects, entertaining, healthy eating, and some tips for raising teens and beyond.
AnnMarie is wearing the blue dress, and I’m wearing red!
Patriotic Summer Cookout Menu
This menu has me drooling because cookout food is some of my favorite food!
So let’s take a look at our menu for this simple summer dinner party.
Cocktail
This month, we’re serving up the cocktail, and you are gonna love this delicious Watermelon Blueberry Mojito!
It’s a fun twist on the classic mojito, one of the most perfect summer cocktails.
Pureed watermelon and a blueberry simple syrup meld with the subtle flavors of mint and lime to help you cool down on even the hottest of summer days.
Appetizer
The next stop for a tasty recipe is our friend Rachel. She lives about an hour and a half east of us in North Carolina on a gorgeous lot at the end of a road surrounded by ponds.
She’s sharing her friend Joan’s recipe for an ooey gooey cheesy onion dip.
What a delicious way to start our cookout meal!
Main Course
One of my family’s favorite cookout foods has got to be grilled sausages and peppers.
Our friend Stacy, from New Jersey, is sharing her version of this tasty summer staple!
There’s nothing like the smell of grilling peppers and onions, is there?
Side Dish
Next, we’re heading to Nebraska to visit Jen from the blog Midwest Life and Style.
Jen is sharing her recipe for a delicious Summer Berry Salad with Poppyseed Dressing.
Don’t you love the way the berries and cheese show off the red, white, and blue?
AnnMarie and I both love salads featuring fruit, cheese, and nuts, so this recipe will definitely be on our menus this summer!
If you’re looking for a sugar-free salad dressing option for this salad, you’ll love this one!
Dessert
The last stop on our progressive dinner is our friend Michele from Texas.
She’s serving a beautiful American Flag Dessert Pizza that sounds absolutely delicious!
I love that she’s used both strawberries and raspberries on this yummy dessert.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our patriotic cookout menu!
