Happy New Year!
Wow, can you believe it’s 2023?
The years just keep flying by, don’t they?!
We’d love it if time could just slow down a little bit because we’re having so much fun we want to keep doing what we’re doing forever.
Do you ever feel like that?
Tell me we’re not alone!
We had fun ringing in the new year together with our sweet husbands and friends.
And then…
dun…dun…dun…
the dreaded ick hit us.
AnnMarie started not feeling great on NYE and wound up with a sinus infection.
Of course, Anne got sick three days later.
When we say we’re close and share everything…well, we really share everything.
Since we were both feeling pretty cruddy this week it was a slow work week for us.
But we did get to share some awesome DIY organizing projects with you if you’re getting your house decluttered this year.
Check them out…

AnnMarie has been procrastinating on making over her bedroom closet for a while.
Ok…maybe it’s been a couple of years now.
She gave her husband’s small walk-in closet a total transformation and completely changed the design and functionality of the space.
And the best part was how affordable the project was.
You have to see it to believe it! So go check it out here.
Do you have a mud room or drop zone in your home?
If you do then we’re a little jealous.
But if you’re like us and you don’t, then another organizing project for the new year is Anne’s garage drop zone.
Since neither of us has designated mud rooms in our houses and we use the garage as the everyday entry to our homes it makes sense to create one in that space.
AnnMarie has a few old shelves and a rug in the corner of her garage but Anne designed an amazing drop zone that packs in the storage opportunities.
And she didn’t buy anything for the garage mud room because they used supplies they already had on hand.
It’s another see it to believe DIY project you don’t want to miss. Click here to get the details.

Your Top 10 Purchases of 2022
10. Hanging Shoe Storage Organizer
We’ve had a bit of experience getting teens ready to head off to college between both of us.
Some of our most popular posts are all about the preparation for college so it’s no wonder this hanging shoe organizer made it to the top 10 list of purchases made by our readers in 2022.
We’ve both purchased a few of these as they’re great for storing not only shoes but lots of other items without taking up much closet space.
Check out what AnnMarie’s son used his for in his freshman dorm here.
9. Command Poster Strips
We love command strips.
So many options from hooks, to picture hangers to these poster strips.
College students can’t live without command strips of all kinds either but you should see how we used these to create a personalized wall in a teen bedroom.
8. Set of Cooking Utensils
Many college students move off campus during their sophomore year and when they do they’ll need even more supplies for their first apartment.
This affordable set of cooking utensils will get your student started.
If you’re helping set up your student’s first college apartment you may need this checklist.
7. Set of Slim Nonslip Hangers
Another fan favorite from our readers for college prep is this set of 50 felt hangers.
Dorm rooms and apartments are small so the thin design of these hangers is a real space saver.
Honestly, we both use these in our own closets as well.
Since they are nonslip blouses no longer slid off the hangers.
6. Double Stick Acid Free Tape
When using tape on photos you want to be sure to use an acid free product.
So if you’re a scrapbooker be sure to use this tape or something similar.
This double stick tape also worked great for ceremony wedding programs AnnMarie made for her sister’s wedding.
5. White Cardstock Paper
Another reader favorite thing to buy from our blog posts is this pack of 50 sheets of white cardstock paper from Michaels.
We use this paper for so many craft projects.
AnnMarie used it for both the wedding programs mentioned above and this wedding seating chart she made.
4. Bed Rest Lounger
A bed rest pillow is a must have for small college dorm rooms.
Lots of reading and studying happens in those small rooms so having an extra seating space is really helpful.
Click here for a full list of dorm room essentials.
3. Glass Drink Dispenser
This large glass drink dispenser is perfect for entertaining.
But have you considered using a something like this for laundry detergent?
That’s exactly what AnnMarie did in her new laundry room.
2. Set of Popcorn Seasonings
Our followers really love their popcorn because this set of six seasonings came in at number two on our list in 2022.
A popcorn bar is a fun addition to a graduation, birthday or other any other party.
I mean who doesn’t love popcorn, are we right?!
1. Vintage Amber Glass Bottles
Drum roll please!
Coming in at our top spot for most purchases through our affiliate links are these gorgeous antique amber glass bottles.
We love decorating with amber bottles not only in the fall but also during the winter too.
See how we use them here, here and here.
